Make a healthy choice with Gyprock Sensitive. This moisture resistant wall and ceiling plasterboard contains powerful antifungal properties to resist mould and mildew making it the ideal choice for wet areas and the homes of asthma and allergy sufferers.

Product Overview

The drive to create healthy homes led to the development of Sensitive plasterboard, with several important qualities to help protect homeowners and their families. The gypsum core is treated with a powerful but gentle antifungal agent, which penetrates through the paper liner to the subsequent paint coating. The core also contains a wax emulsion to make it highly resistant to moisture and humidity without compromising structural integrity, and the product is classified as low in volatile organic compounds (VOC), meaning it emits fewer chemicals than the acceptable Australian Standard.

Gyprock Sensitive satisfies the requirements of the Building Code of Australia for wet area wall linings in residential buildings.

Typical Applications

Gyprock Sensitive’s powerful but gentle antifungal properties and low VOC make it ideal for use in the homes of asthma and allergy sufferers particularly for areas such as bathrooms, bedrooms, laundries, ensuites and living spaces.

It is also suitable for use in commercial projects where mould can be a concern such as; showers/change rooms, laundries and kitchens, hospital ward bathrooms and soffits.

Because it is not subject to moisture movement and has extremely low water absorption characteristics, Gyprock Sensitive provides an excellent, stable substrate for ceramic tiles.

Tested Impact Performance

Gyprock impact resistant plasterboard products are manufactured with a heavier lining paper, and special additives to enhance the durability of their core. Typically, these products can withstand twice the discernible force of regular plasterboard products, making them ideal for high traffic areas.

Hard body impact

Hard body impact is assessed by dropping a 50mm steel ball onto the plasterboard surface from increasing heights.

Soft body impact

Soft body impact testing sees a weighted bag swung on a pendulum, striking the plasterboard surface.
